Your database sleeps. So does the bill.

You pay $0.015 a compute-hour while it works and $0 while it's idle. Branches cost nothing extra, and the first 100 compute-hours every month are on us.

Plans

Every plan pays the same rates.

Bigger plans include more before the meter starts, and lift the caps.

Free

$0a month

Real Postgres for your next idea. When it hits the limit it stops, so it never sends you a bill.

Every month

  • 100 compute-hours
  • 1 GB storage
  • 500 GB transfer
  • 3 projects, 5 branches each
  • Up to 2 CU (1 GB memory)

We ask for a card up front. Free never charges it.

  • $0.25 a GB-month
  • $0.08 a GB of transfer
  • No branch fees
  • A spend cap, if you want one

Team

$69a month

For teams running production, with a preview database on every pull request.

Every month

  • 5,000 compute-hours
  • 50 GB storage
  • 500 GB transfer
  • No project or branch caps
  • Up to 16 CU (8 GB memory)
  • Always-on computes

2 databases

Count production, staging and every preview branch. Each one runs its own compute.

Size of each1 GB memory

One compute-hour is one CU awake for an hour.

10 h

Hours asleep cost $0. A database sleeps after 5 quiet minutes and wakes on the next query.

10 GB

Add up the data across all of them.

200 GB

The first 500 GB every month are free, on every plan.

Questions

Before you ask.

  • What's a compute-hour?

One CU awake for one hour. A CU is 0.25 vCPU and 512 MB of memory, so a 2 CU database awake for an hour uses 2 compute-hours. Sizes run 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16 CU, metered to the millisecond.
  • Does an idle database cost anything?

Not for compute. After 5 quiet minutes it goes to sleep, and the next query wakes it. While it sleeps, you pay only for the storage it keeps.
  • What happens at the free limit?

Free stops. Your databases sleep until the month resets, and your data stays put. Want to keep going? Turn on pay as you go:
    bata billing stop-at-limit off
  • Is restore history billed?

Not today. Point-in-time restore is included: every project can rewind 1, 7, 14 or 30 days, 7 by default.
  • Is there a minimum charge?

No. A month under $5 isn't charged. It rolls into the next bill.
  • Moving from another host?

It's one command. bata import copies your database over and checks that both sides match. Read the import guide.
